Miri Ben-Ari & Israeli president Shimon Peres
Shimon Peres, the ninth President of Israel and a Nobel Peace Prize winner, has died at the age of 93. I had the honor of meeting President Peres when receiving the first Israeli Martin Luther King Award at the President’s House, in Jerusalem, Israel. I was invited to perform my violin composition “Symphony of Brotherhood,” receive the MLK award and had the pleasure of  meeting the President in person. President Peres was one of the smartest men Israel has ever seen, and his speech that day about peace and the importance of creating bridges between communities, has always resonated with me. Peres was Israel’s real gem of wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.
This is a great loss for all of us. R.I.P.
